Evidence Index

Physical evidence list.  This begins with the Crime lab index, from early June, because this is the first long list upon which to build.  After that, it is appended chronologically, using each correspondence with the West Memphis Police Department, the Arkansas Crime Laboratory and the Alabama Forensics Labs.  Information from the Genetic Designs reports were then included.  Finally, two recently available lab reports (dd and ee) have been added.  The same item may be referred to in different lists and have different descriptions, occasionally with different numbers.

The "E" lists.  This is physical evidence.  It begins with E-1 and continues to E-180 with some numbers skipped.  The same number may refer to multiple items.  Some evidence lists include items that had not been numbered.  These may have further information in their descriptions.  Some pieces of evidence are referred to by other numbering systems.  These include items from the Byers and Moores household (CB1 and MM1 and MM2, respectively), E1a through E1c and E2a through E2c, and A through E.  Evidence derived from the forensic labs are listed as FP.  There are three sets of these lists corresponding to Byers, Branch, and Moore.

The source physical evidence may have been further examined in parts or as a whole.  When these items are the source of samples they are typically labelled and numbered in a Q or K series.  The Arkansas and Alabama laboratories had separate numbering for their Q and K series.  To explicitly indicate the difference, the Alabama Q and K series are appended with Alabama in parentheses.  I have attempted to cross-reference each sample to its evidence source.  Often this was performed explicitly by the laboratory, sometimes not.  In cases where the cross-reference wasn't explicit, it was still possible to unambiguously reference the sample.

There are some contradictions between how evidence, samples and their sources are labelled between lists.  In such a case, each of the labels are included.  For example,
